Frugal Homemade Béchamel Sauce

I really think that everybody has some simple recipes that are identifying their family meals. This Frugal Homemade Béchamel Sauce is one of these for us.
Frugal Italian Family's recipe

Yes, I know that it does not include all the ingredients of the traditional recipe, but we find our version lighter and more frugal and we absolutely love it.

This white sauce is perfect if you want to cook lasagne or any type of baked pasta (with vegetables or with cheese, for example). I'm sure that you will appreciate its delicate and simple taste.

Ingredients for Frugal Homemade Béchamel Sauce:

1 liter of milk
3 tablespoons of white flour
salt, pepper

1. Pour the milk in a saucepan and put it on the stove
2. Add the flower, salt and pepper and stir gently until the milk boils
3. Remove from the stove and that's it: your sauce is ready

You can reduce the quantity of flower, if you prefer a more liquid sauce.

We are going to post more Frugal Italian Recipes in the future, follow us if you do not want to miss them! And thank you for visiting!

And what about you? What are your favourite frugal recipes?
